Burning Knucklers

Burning Knucklers is an archetype consisting of FIRE attribute Warrior type
monsters. They are based on boxers and deal with Special Summoning,
Sending your cards from the Deck to the Graveyard, and Giving your own
monsters more attack so they can run over beast sticks. Well that’s
enough general info on them, onto the monsters!

Burning Knuckler - Counterblow


Quote:
During the Damage Step, when a "Burning Knuckler" monster you control
battles: You can banish this card from your hand or Graveyard; that
monster gains 1000 ATK until the End Phase. You can only use the effect
of "Burning Knuckler - Counterblow" once per turn.


It’s their own Honest/Kalut, but not as good. It
only gives them 1000 attack but that is still a pretty big boost. It
will work really well with Glassjaw and the XYZs. All in all solid card
but is nerfed when compared to the likes of honest or even kalut.

Counter
blows are exactly what the name says, a counter attack, usually taking
your opponent by surprise. Burning Knuckler - Counterblow does this by
surprising your opponent in the damage step and getting your monsters to
huge attack scores.


Burning Knuckler – Glassjaw


Quote:
When this card is targeted for an attack: Destroy this card. When this
card is sent to the Graveyard by a card effect: You can target 1
"Burning Knuckler" monster in your Graveyard, except "Burning Knuckler -
Glassjaw"; add that target to your hand.


Whoa, whoa, whoa, just look at that Attack man.
2000. But it destroys itself when it is targeted for an attack which
makes it bad right? Not a chance. When this card is sent to the grave by
a card effect you get to target 1 Burning Knuckler in your Graveyard
and add it to your hand. This card will probably be a key card for
Burning Knuckler decks.

A glassjaw is someone who hits hard, but can't take a hit. That's exactly what Burning Knucker Glassjaw is (2000 atk, 0 def)

Burning Knuckler – Headgear


Quote:
When this card is Normal Summoned: You can send 1 "Burning Knuckler"
monster from your Deck to the Graveyard. Once per turn, this face-up
Attack Position card cannot be destroyed by battle.


Another key card for the Burning Knucklers. This
card will work great with Glassjaw. Plus once per turn it won’t be
destroyed while in attack position giving it the chance to stay on the
field for XYZ summoning later on.

Boxers wear headgear to protect themselves in fights.

Burning Knuckler – Spar


Quote:
If you control a "Burning Knuckler" monster, you can Special Summon this
card (from your hand), but you cannot conduct your Battle Phase this
turn.


Once again, another major card for the archetype.
While you control a Burning Knuckler you can Special Summon it. At the
expense of you Battle Phase however but that isn’t to big of a cost
cause it gives you a XYZ.

Sparring is a huge part of boxing, and
it requires a partner, Burning Knuckler Spar does just that by putting
itself on the field.

Burning Knuckler – Switchhitter


Quote:
When this card is Normal Summoned: You can target 1 "Burning Knuckler"
monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target. You cannot
Special Summon monsters the turn you activate this effect, except
"Burning Knuckler" monsters.


And the last known key card. Normal Summon it and
target 1 Burning Knuckler in your Graveyard and Special Summon it. At
the expense of not being able to Special Summon other monsters that
aren’t Burning Knuckler. But it’s not that big of a deal as you will
probably go for a Knuckler XYZ.

A switch hitter is a boxer who
can switch between boxing styles with ease, Burning Knuckler -
Switchhitter can do that, by getting Glassjaw for offense, or headgear
for defense.

Burning Knuckler - Restrained Barbaric Soldier, Leadblow


Quote:
2 Level 4 "Burning Knuckler" monsters
If exactly 1 "Burning Knuckler"
monster you control (and no other cards) would be destroyed, you can
detach 1 Xyz Material from this card instead. When an Xyz Material is
detached from this card: This card gains 800 ATK.


The first XYZ of the Burning Knuckler and a very
good one at that. When exactly 1 Burning Knuckler would be destroyed you
can detach a XYZ material from it instead. Makes it work great with
Glassjaw. Also when it detaches a material it gains 800 attack which
makes it a 3000 to 3800 beater.

A leadblow is your first hit and most important one.

Number 105: Burning Knuckler - Cestus the Meteor


Quote:
3 Level 4 monsters
During either player's Battle Step, when a
"Burning Knuckler" monster you control battles an opponent's monster:
You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; negate the effects of your
opponent's monster until the end of this turn, also your monster cannot
be destroyed by this battle, and your opponent takes any Battle Damage
you would have taken from this battle instead.


2500 beater that requires 3 monsters. Is it
really worth it? The answer is heck yes. During either players battle
phase when a Burning Knuckler you control battles an opponent’s monster
you can detach a material you get to negate the monster’s effect, your
monster can’t be destroyed, and your opponent takes all battle damage.
Perfect for you low attack monsters.

A cestus is an ancient
battle glove, sometimes used in pankration. They were worn as are
today's boxing gloves, but were made with leather strips and sometimes
filled with iron plates or fitted with blades or spikes, and used as
weapons.

Number C105: Burning Knuckler - Caestus the Comet


Quote:
4 Level 5 monsters
When this card destroys an opponent's monster by
battle and sends it to the Graveyard: Inflict damage to your opponent
equal to half of the destroyed monster's original ATK. If "Number 105:
Burning Knuckler - Cestus the Meteor" is attached to this card as an Xyz
Material, this card gains this effect.
• Once per turn: You can
detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to target 1 face-up monster your
opponent controls; destroy it, and if you do, inflict damage to your
opponent equal to its original ATK.
